As many times as I’ve tried, I always forget how to tie a tie. I worked at Dillard’s for a short period of time, and I spent my long and boring days trying to learn different tie knots. The only problem is, I’d have to be looking at a cheat sheet and it would take me 15 thousand tries.

I know how difficult it is to tie a tie, let alone remember how to tie it a year later! I’ve included a helpful video that provides step-by-step instructions on tying that tie!

How to tie a tie

Knowing how to tie a tie becomes second nature over time. But at first? Man, that is one sharp learning curve. Finding instructions on how to tie a tie can be difficult. A lot of the time, they look a little like this:
